Earthmoving Diesel Mechanic

About the position

A well-established company within the mining and earthmoving industry is seeking a qualified Earthmoving Mechanic to join their Remanufacturing Workshop based in the East Rand. 
Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Earthmoving Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic.
• Minimum 4–5 years' related experience within the earthmoving or heavy equipment industry.
• Strong hydraulic experience is essential.
• Experience with the refurbishment and repair of heavy equipment components.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
• Willing to work overtime when required.
• Computer literacy (MS Office) is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, refurbish and assemble earthmoving components.
• Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic failures.
• Conduct fault finding and compile technical reports.
• Test components following assembly to ensure functionality and quality standards.
• Assemble components using hand tools and workshop machinery.
• Follow workshop procedures, quality standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and job records.
• Assist with component assessments and quotations.
• Rotate between workshop divisions when operationally required.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the workshop.
• Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
