About the position

Deli Spices Distribution Centre South is seeking a dynamic, talented individual to join our Operations department as a Driver.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS LEVEL:Essential

• Matric and a minimum +3 years' truck driver experience within Logistics, Goods Manufacturing, FMCG environment or equivalent experience.
• Valid Code 10 drivers' license.
• Health & safety experience essential.
• Experience of FSSC22000 in a regulated environment (e.g. Food Industry) advantageous.
• Warehousing and stock control experience advantageous.
• Forklift license advantageous.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The main purpose of the Distribution Driver is to ensure that the Deli distribution plan is executed, product and materials safely loaded, transported and offloaded and that the required documentation is completed in full daily. All food safety standards as per FSSC22000 and Safety standard adhered to.

• Drive cost reduction whilst optimizing resources and meeting resource requirements continuously.
• Adhere to all FSSC22000 standards and Company policies and procedures regarding the receipt, loading, transporting and offloading of raw materials, packaging, blends and finished goods.
• Accurate all materials in transit is accounted for always and that the required documentation is completed in full for each delivery.
• Ensure vehicle is maintained in a good condition always.
• Drive food safety, general manufacturing principles (GMP's), quality assurance and quality control systems (QA/QC), environmental awareness, safety, security and health in the workplace whilst assessing risks continuously (SHERQ).
• People management through applied human resource and industrial relationship tools, policies and procedures.
