About the position
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and field servicing of drilling rigs and related equipment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, rigging competency, and a proactive approach to safety and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain a range of drilling rigs and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform mechanical inspections and rigging operations in compliance with legal and safety standards.
- Assist with alignment, calibration, and setup of drill rigs for on-site use.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform minor repairs.
- Complete service logs, maintenance records, and safety checklists.
- Travel to client sites to provide technical assistance and support.
- Follow company and site-specific HSE protocols at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Valid Drill Rigging License / Competency Certificate (essential).
- 2-5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within mining or quarrying environments.
- Experience operating rotary, DTH, or percussion drill rigs.
- Strong mechanical skills and hands-on familiarity with drill rig equipment.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
