Our client, market leader in the South African Roadside Assistance Services, is currently recruiting a permanent position for a Digital Marketing Specialist, based in Gauteng.
The Automobile Association of South Africa (AA) is seeking a talented and results-driven Digital Marketing Specialist to oversee and manage our digital marketing initiatives. This role will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of all digital platforms, including our website, social media channels, mobile app, and WhatsApp communication. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital marketing strategies, a passion for driving brand engagement, and the ability to enhance the AA's online presence and customer experience. The Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all web content is up to date and accessible to business leads and search engines. This position has the responsibility of driving traffic to the websites, capturing leads using web assets, refining the lead generation processes and reporting on results to maximise return on investment. A key focus area is data analysis, management and maintenance of data profiles. This position requires a deep understanding of content marketing. The incumbent will furthermore have knowledge of managing websites in a Content Management System (CMS) as well as implement digital communication and promotions.
The Digital Marketing Specialist will moreover be responsible for all digital marketing platforms and channels, which include AA websites; AA sub-sites; AA electronic newsletters; e-mailers; e-mail campaigns as well as any other AA affiliated website traffic growth.
In addition, the Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for AA's social media communities and platforms and work closely with the PR and Communications team on internal and external online PR activities.
Primarily, the Digital Marketing Specialist has to administer the AA's online and digital presence, manage the online brand reputation and monitor performance. Data mining for insights to drive further performance of the AA online eco-system.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Digital Platform Management:
- Oversee and manage AA's website, mobile app, social media channels, and WhatsApp communications
- To monitor, manage and handle all administration for the social media communities
- To maintain and report on all digital, web and social media activities
- Ensure consistency in branding, messaging, and content across all platforms
- Develop and maintain a content calendar that aligns with business objectives and marketing campaigns
- To administer all related customer queries and complaints in the online environment including social media
- To ensure that all links and content on the website are current
- Collaborate with the IT and design teams to enhance user experience and interface for the website and mobile app
Social Media Strategy & Execution:
- Develop, implement, and track social media strategies to drive engagement, brand awareness, and customer loyalty
- Suggesting improvements to increase website and social media traffic
- To ensure that the website and social media content is engaging
- Manage social media campaigns across platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Monitor social media trends, provide recommendations, and create innovative content to boost engagement
WhatsApp Communication Management:
- Oversee the AA's WhatsApp channel to ensure timely responses, customer interaction, and engagement
- Develop content strategies for WhatsApp that align with customer needs and business goals
- Analyze communication data and customer feedback to optimize the channel's effectiveness
Campaign Planning & Reporting:
- Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, email marketing, paid ads (Google Ads, social media ads), and more
- Monitor and analyse campaign performance, providing actionable insights to improve ROI
- Regularly report on KPIs, such as traffic, engagement, conversion rates, and customer feedback
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Communication:
- Work closely with other marketing team members to integrate digital marketing efforts with traditional marketing activities
- Collaborate with customer service, product, and sales teams to align digital content and messaging with customer needs and AA services
Brand & Market Research:
- Stay up to date with digital marketing trends, tools, and best practices to ensure AA remains at the forefront of digital innovation
- Conduct market research to understand customer behavior, preferences, and trends within the automobile industry
Job Objectives and Activities:

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, or related field
Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of responsive websites and databases
- Sound knowledge of POPI regulations
- Good working knowledge of CMS
- At least 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing, preferably in the automotive or service industry
- Proficiency in managing digital platforms (social media, website, mobile apps, WhatsApp)
- Strong understanding of SEO, SEM, email marketing, content management, and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hootsuite, etc.)
- Experience with social media advertising (Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, Google Ads)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different platforms
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines
- A creative thinker with a passion for delivering results and driving engagement
- Graphics programs such as Photoshop or other image editing software will be an advantage
