Dispatch Shift Supervisor Roodepoort

About the position

Well known company based in Roodepoort (Stormill) who manufacture and supply their products requires a Dispatch Shift Supervisor with 3 - 5 years relevant experience.
The responsibilities for the position would be focused on the supervision of and control over the work activities on a shift under your supervision. It will include the following:

• Supervising daily work flow and ensuring that all required daily activities are completed
• Handling Stock control including Daily Cycle Counts and Stock Takes
• Completion of Daily, Weekly & Monthly Reports
• Overseeing the maintenance and utilisation of delivery vehicles whilst on shift
• Controlling  and managing all warehouse and distribution costs related to his shift responsibilities
• Ensuring accurate receipting, picking, checking and dispatching of inventory
• Supervising daily activities of reporting staff including handling the disciplining and development of staff 
• Handling investigations and resolving work problems
• Maintaining Warehouse Management controls daily
• Implementing and Managing Health and Safety processes and procedures
• Completing of ad hoc duties as required by the Manager

To be considered for the position you will have to meet the following criteria:

• Matric / N3 and 3 years proven experience in a warehousing team leader or supervisory position
• Manufacturing industry experience is essential
• Proven experience with and exposure to automated warehouse management systems
• English literacy and the ability to write speak and understand English
• Computer literacy in the MS office suite with the ability to compile, mail and consolidate documents
• Knowledge of Syspro would be advantageous
• Proven ability in overseeing day-to-day production activities in a unionized workplace
• A sound understanding of Finances and its impact on the operation
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully delegate responsibilities where appropriate
• A passion for quality and delivery on time
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proven ability in maintaining high levels of accuracy when under pressure
• The ability to work according to strict deadlines on a continuous basis
• Good conflict handling skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license, and own vehicle
