Dispatch Manager

Department: Logistics / Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager / Logistics Director

Job Summary:

• The Dispatch Manager is responsible for overseeing the scheduling, coordination, and dispatching of goods and vehicles to ensure timely and efficient delivery
• This role involves managing dispatch staff, optimizing routes, maintaining communication with drivers, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards

Key Responsibilities:

Dispatch Operations:

• Plan and coordinate daily dispatch schedules and delivery routes
• Monitor real-time dispatch activities to ensure on-time deliveries
• Assign drivers and vehicles based on delivery requirements and availability

Team Management:

• Supervise and support dispatch coordinators and drivers
• Conduct training and performance evaluations
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and customer service

Logistics Coordination:

• Liaise with warehouse, production, and customer service teams to align dispatch with operational needs
• Resolve delivery issues, delays, or route changes promptly

System & Reporting:

• Utilize dispatch and fleet management software to track deliveries and vehicle performance
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, fuel usage, and delivery times
• Generate reports on delivery performance and suggest improvements

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure all dispatch activities comply with transport regulations and company policies
• Monitor driver adherence to safety protocols and legal driving hours

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in dispatch software and GPS tracking systems
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly
• Knowledge of transport regulations and safety standards
