Dispatch Manager opportunity available within the manufacturing and distribution sector. This role focuses on fleet planning, dispatch execution, and driver performance management.
Our client is a growing company in the manufacturing and distribution industry, specialising in animal feed and accessories. They supply a wide range of products to clients across various regions and operate their own fleet for delivery and logistics.
The Dispatch Manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing daily dispatch operations, ensuring the fleet is utilised efficiently. The role includes managing driver performance, liaising with customers, and reporting on dispatch and delivery outcomes. It requires strong coordination, leadership, and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily fleet dispatch schedules
- Monitor and manage fleet utilisation and delivery routes
- Communicate with drivers to ensure efficient and timely deliveries
- Liaise with customers to ensure delivery expectations are met
- Track vehicle movement and performance metrics
- Report on delivery timelines, fleet usage, and productivity
- Address operational issues and resolve delivery challenges
- Maintain dispatch logs and delivery documentation
- Encourage and guide drivers to meet daily targets
- Support continuous improvement in dispatch processes
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
- Collaborate with internal teams to align dispatch with production and sales
- Implement and maintain dispatch-related systems and tools
- Oversee adherence to company policies and procedures

Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in truck dispatch planning
- Computer literate with strong Excel skills
- Experience using fleet tracking systems (Trackmatic beneficial)
- Knowledge of dispatch operations within a manufacturing/distribution environment

Remuneration
R20 000 – R25 000 CTC
