About the Role
In this role, you will design, develop, and optimise advanced digital signal processing algorithms that power next-generation aerospace and defence systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and contribute to complex development projects through modelling, simulation, implementation, and testing of signal processing solutions.
This position is suitable for both recent graduates with DSP modelling experience as well as engineers with up to 5+ years of experience in digital communications or DSP algorithm development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership through detailed analyses, prototype development, and communication system assessments
- Conduct research in advanced signal processing, GPS/GNSS technologies, and reconfigurable communication systems
- Develop and implement DSP algorithms for GPS/GNSS receivers, communication transceivers, and/or reconfigurable platforms
- Analyse signal-processing performance using MATLAB, Python, or similar simulation tools
- Contribute technical reports, briefings, and documentation for internal teams and customers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, NQF Level 8 or higher
- Recent graduate with Simulink experience OR 1-5 years' experience implementing digital communications and/or DSP algorithms
- Experience in the integration and testing of communication and/or radar systems
- Experience with radar signal processing techniques (e.g., pulse compression, detection processing)
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar DSP simulation tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering environment
