About the position
A well-established retail and convenience brand group is seeking an experienced and self-driven Digital Account Co-ordinator to join their digital marketing team in Brackenfell. Reporting directly to the Head of Digital Marketing, this role offers an exciting opportunity for a digital marketing professional who is passionate about brand growth, online engagement, and digital campaign execution within a fast-paced retail environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing digital marketing strategies for multiple brands with physical store footprints, maintaining strong relationships with retailers and franchisees, and ensuring consistent and impactful online brand presence. This role also includes departmental administrative responsibilities and requires someone who thrives under pressure and can manage tight turnaround times effectively.
Responsibilities:
Digital Marketing & Campaign Management:
- Manage and coordinate digital content across multiple brand channels.
- Plan, implement, and optimise digital marketing strategies for physical retail stores.
- Coordinate and execute site-specific digital campaigns for individual stores.
- Manage local digital advertising across Google, Meta, and other relevant platforms.
- Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of digital campaigns and marketing initiatives.
- Optimise website and digital content to improve SEO and online visibility.
- Prepare and present digital performance reports and campaign insights.
Retail & Franchise Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with buyers, store managers, and franchisees.
- Investigate and understand retailer and store operator needs and objectives.
- Support retailers with digital marketing queries and campaign execution guidance.
- Act as the digital liaison between retailers, internal departments, and external agencies.
- Ensure compliance with brand guidelines and co-branding requirements across all digital platforms.
Digital Operations & Store Support:
- Ensure store listings, online profiles, and location pages are accurate and optimised.
- Coordinate digital setup and launch support for new store openings.
- Monitor store-level digital performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assist with digital administration and departmental support functions where required.
Budget & Reporting:
- Assist with digital campaign budget management and expenditure tracking.
- Analyse campaign data, engagement, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular reports on campaign progress, digital performance, and store engagement.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Digital Account Co-ordinator, Social Media Manager, or similar digital marketing role.
- At least 1 year's experience with SEO, SEM, and CRM systems.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to manage urgent and last-minute deadlines effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Reliable transport is essential for travel between Cape Town-based stores (minimum once per month).
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of online marketing tools, trends, and technologies.
- Excellent understanding of social media platforms and digital engagement strategies.
- Strong understanding of digital design principles and the ability to brief design requirements effectively.
- Proficient in Canva and/or Adobe design platforms.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Customer service orientated with the ability to manage retailer and franchise relationships professionally.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
