About the position
A well-established company in the mining and heavy equipment industry is seeking an experienced Underground Diesel Mechanic to join their team based in Boksburg.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal preferred)
- Minimum 4–5 years' experience working on underground mining equipment
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience diagnosing and repairing faults on underground machinery
- Valid driver's licence
- Own reliable transport
- Able to work independently and under pressure
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults on underground mining equipment
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Carry out breakdown repairs to minimise equipment downtime
- Conduct inspections and identify potential mechanical issues
- Complete job cards and maintenance reports accurately
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety standards and company procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure maximum equipment availability
