Our client, based in Durban North, is seeking a qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repair of diesel vehicles and equipment.
Important Location Requirement: Candidates residing in or near Phoenix, Umhlanga, Tongaat, or surrounding areas will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and manage maintenance schedules.
• Conduct routine inspections on diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Attend to after-hours breakdowns and callouts.
• Service and repair key systems, including:
  • Fuel systems
  • Cooling systems
  • Exhaust systems
  • Braking systems
  • Air systems
  • Transmission systems
  
  


• Diagnose and repair electrical systems, sensors, and ECMs.


• Ensure all repairs are completed according to required safety and performance standards.


• Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.


• Communicate repair requirements and progress to supervisors.


• Estimate repair timelines and identify required parts.


• Identify mechanical and electrical faults and implement appropriate repairs.


• Ensure all work is completed accurately and efficiently.

Minimum Requirements

• 5–8 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Diesel Mechanic Trade Test Certificate – ESSENTIAL.
• Strong experience in diesel diagnostics, engines, repairs, servicing, and maintenance.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Must be willing to work shifts, overtime, standby, weekends, and callouts.

IMPORTANT: Applications from candidates who do not have the required Diesel Mechanic Trade Test qualification will not be considered.
