About the position
A leading organisation is looking for a Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic or Trade Tested Earthmoving Mechanic to join their team in Saldanha Bay. This is a permanent position. Individuals who apply must be trade tested.
A Senior Yellow Machine Mechanic (Earthmoving Equipment or Diesel Mechanic) for diagnosis, repairs and rebuilds of heavy machinery like TLBs, excavators, and graders. Responsibilities require heavy-duty engine and hydraulic expertise and generally demand 5 to 10+ years of experience
The successful incumbent will be based at Saldanha Bay, Western Cape, commencing on 01 July 2026.
Qualifications:
A recognized Trade Test Certificate (e.g., Red Seal Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic).
Experience: 5–10+ years on heavy earthmoving or yellow plant equipment and managing / supervising the workshop team mechanics.
Supervisory experience is essential
Key Skills:
Diagnostics of diesel engines, advanced hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components. Strong abilities in component rebuilds (e.g., drivetrain, differentials) are highly valued
Mentoring junior mechanics, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring site safety compliance
