About the position
Renewable Energy: Development Project Manager
I am recruiting for a well experienced Development Project Manager, well versed in pre-construction phase activities.
The ideal candidate for this roles needs strong skills on ensuring land is ready for construction to proceed.
This person needs to be well aligned with all regulations from an environmental perspective as well as Eskom's perspective as well as budgeting within the project etc
The bulk of the work will be focused on the phase BEFORE projects get to construction, so ensuring green flags & go aheads for construction phases are granted.
Responsibilities:
- Previous experience with developers on REN project development, spanning from site identification to financial close.
- Strong project management skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of the development process for wheeling projects (or Reipp) encompassing regulatory, permitting, commercial, technical, and financial perspectives. While not an expert in each theme, the individual must comprehend them sufficiently to orchestrate the team effectively, relying on both internal and external resources.
- Robust network with the Eskom team responsible for wheeling/Reipp projects.
