Design Engineer required for a professional Civil and Electrical Engineering consulting company based in East London
Role overview:
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer/ Technologist or Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and management of
transportation and water projects, contributing to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:
Education:
- National Diploma, Advance Diploma, or Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering
- Specialize in Urban or transportation engineering
- Professional registration with ECSA or eligible to register
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years’ of experience in pavement design, construction monitoring or supervision
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and manage the design office to operational level.
- Comply with Quality procedures by ensuring an auditable trail of actions during the full life cycle of the project delivery. process, all in accordance with company Quality Management Procedures.
- Conceptualize and define project scope for projects.
- Facilitate site investigations for projects.
- Liaison with relevant stakeholders, Municipalities, and other service providers.
- Prepare and evaluate alternative concept designs, prepare reports to the correct format, and prepare estimates and liaise with other professionals, both internally and externally.
- Project Management and contract administration.
- Attend site and technical meetings.
- Attend tender briefings, provide inputs into tender documentation, write method statements, assist with pricing calculations, according to the senior/lead engineer's or project manager's training and competence level, offer general help during tender processes.
- Contribute to the marketing and business development
- Comply with company procedures and processes, as well as industry norms in terms of project registration and risk analysis
- Comply with Quality procedures by ensuring an auditable trail of actions during the full life cycle of the project delivery process, all in accordance with company Quality Management Procedures.
- Comply with and embrace health and safety regulations at work and on construction sites.
- Ensure that project start-up processes are followed, and the project scoping is clear and approved and that all engineering deliverables are provided on time.
- Develop safe detail designs which are sustainable, manage the preparation of drawings and prepare tender documentation to a high standard.
- Facilitate and assist with the tender and adjudication process leading up to contractor appointment and site
