About the position
Minimum requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience within the retirement fund, pension fund, provident fund, employee benefits or related financial services environment.
- Previous experience in a Principal Officer, Deputy Principal Officer, Fund Secretary, Retirement Fund Governance, Fund Administration, Compliance or similar senior role would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of retirement fund governance and regulatory requirements.
- Working knowledge of the Pension Funds Act and relevant FSCA requirements.
- Experience engaging with Trustees/Boards of Trustees, administrators, auditors, actuaries and other fund service providers.
- Experience with regulatory submissions, fund governance, compliance monitoring and statutory requirements.
- Understanding of retirement fund rules, member benefits and fund administration processes.
- Strong ability to interpret legislation, regulations and fund rules and translate these into practical business requirements.
- Strong governance, risk management, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate independently and provide guidance to senior management and the Board/Trustees.
Qualifications:
A relevant tertiary qualification would be preferred, typically in one of the following areas:
- BCom – Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related discipline
- Employee Benefits
- Retirement Fund Management
- Risk Management or Compliance
- Another relevant financial services or business qualification
