Department Crusher Engineering Manager - Minerals Processing Industry

About the position

A well-established engineering company within the minerals processing industry requires the above to manage the manufacture and engineering designs for all crushing equipment brands.
Minimum requirements for the role:

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar technical qualification) is essential for this role.
• Previous engineering experience working in a similar environment is preferred.
• Previous experience working in the mining industry with preference in crushing, process or materials handling equipment is essential.
• Structural design experience would be an added advantage.
• Must have knowledge and experience with CAD.
• FEA analysis experience advantageous as well as basic software development skills are required.
• Must have good problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas.
• Must be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing the manufacture and engineering designs for all crushing equipment brands.
• Promoting the development and increase the technical knowledge across the department and company.
• Managing the engineering process including design, BoM’s, quality systems and change / revision updates.
• Managing the drawing office and allocation of drawing resources for both crushing and process divisions.
• Managing all technical documentation for crushing products.
• Conducting test work and determining the suitability of available equipment to the client’s requirements.
• Producing technical reports and specifications in connection with any test work performed.
• Assisting the customer in understanding the demands of the material and the implications of machine selection on upstream and downstream processes.
• Creating product definitions tailored according to clients’ needs.
• Creating and registering items and bills of materials in the relevant information system to allow for the procurement of machines/spares/equipment.
• Commissioning new equipment to meet clients operating requirements.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
