Debtors Clerk

About the position

A well-established company in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk / Debtors Clerk to join its finance team.
Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in an Accounts Receivable or Debtors Clerk role.
• Relevant Qualification 
• Experience managing a large customer base and high-volume collections.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables and formulas.
• Experience on Pastel is essential; Sage X3 experience is advantageous but not required as training will be provided.
• Retail customer account experience (e.g. invoice uploads to retail portals) is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Full accounts receivable and debtors function.
• Manage a high volume of customer accounts and collections.
• Allocate customer payments and reconcile accounts.
• Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve account queries.
• Process cash customer transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare debtor reconciliations and reports.
• Upload invoices to customer portals where required.
• Maintain accurate customer account records.
• Work closely with internal departments to resolve account discrepancies.
• Perform general accounts receivable administration.
