About the position

To manage the accounts receivable function by maintaining accurate debtor accounts and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding payments.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Accounting or Financial Management
  • 3–5 years finance experience with exposure to debtors, creditors, cashbook, bank reconciliations, and general ledger processing
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
  • Proficient in MS Excel and working with accounting systems
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret financial data and provide clear commentary
Key Performance Areas:

  • Maintain accurate debtor accounts, including customer details, payment terms, and balances
  • Follow up on overdue accounts via phone and email to collect outstanding payments
  • Investigate and resolve invoice queries, billing discrepancies, and payment disputes
  • Monitor the debtors ageing report and prioritise collection activities
  • Prepare debtor reports and provide updates to management
  • Generate and distribute invoices and customer statements
  • Negotiate payment arrangements where required
  • Liaise with sales and administration regarding payment terms and account queries
  • Assist customers with billing and account related queries
