Debtors Clerk

About the position

Our Client is looking for a Debtors Controller to ensure accurate and efficient processing and monitoring of incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts

Responsibilities

• Capture payments from bank statements
• Phone customers on chase list and update diary
• Keep track of assigned accounts and recover outstanding payments
• Locate and contact debtors to inquire of their payment status
• Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans
• Handle queries, investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Allocations
• Opening/closing of accounts
• Override sales
• Reconciliation of accounts
• Claims - Requesting RFC/ Price difference
• Applying CGIC for customers
• Process final demands for customers
• Review age analysis
• Process credit notes
• Send customers credit notes
• Assist with Petty Cash
• Credit Application
• Check and compile scanning to drive and filing
• Conduct trade reference and update reports
• Update account status and database regularly
• Alert Management of debtors unwilling or unable to pay when necessary
• Send reports
• Filing
• Assist with supervisors' tasks

Experience

• Matric and any relevant qualification
• Understanding of the Credit Guarantee System
• 3 years or more of Work experience
• Previous Accounting experience
• Proficient in MS Excel/Office and Babbage/Kerridge system
