About the position
Reporting to the Divisionsl Manager:Debtors Managment and Treasury , the collections Comtroller/Manager will lead and control the Debt Managment Team, ensuring operational effiiency and service excellence by implementing effective debt managment polices and procedures designed to reduce outstanding debt.
the sucessful candidates responsibilites will be to:
- Identify and implement best practice in debt collection timeframes and limit arrears.
- Implementation arrears status classification tracker and ensure appropriate action is taken
- Review trends and develop mitgration strategies to address problem loanss.
- Recommend and justify investment write offs
- Develop debt managment policies and procedures
- Estabalish process standards in line with obectives e.g. turnaround times ,service standards
- Monitor and direct actions of the team ensuiring policies and procedures are followed and service provided effciency and effectively
- Continously improve processes to ensure appropriate interventions are implemented timeoulsy.
- Ensure clients concerns are resolved effciently.
- Ensure all procedures and processes comply with reqired legislation and /or corporate polices.
- Coordination with legal collection to ensure that repossessions and/or corporate polices.
- Manage the performance of subordinates and implement development and corrective actions where approciate.
the following minimum requirements should be met to be considered:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent of NQF level 7 Commercial Qualifications
Experience:
3-5 years experience in Credit/Debt Managment
3 years' experience in managing a team.
Requisite Functional Competencies
- Advanced knowledge of the creidt environment and laws
- Basic knowledge of relevant legislatione.g.Banks Act ,FAIS,FICA,NCA,PFMA
- Knowlege and experience in MS office
- Conflict Managment
- Negotiation Skills
- Customer Relationship management.
- Strong quantitative background
- Willingness to travel frequently
- Valid code 8 drivers' licence with own reliable vehicle
