Debt Collections Agent

About the position

Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and target-driven Debt Collection Call Centre Agent to join a dynamic team at our Northriding branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for contacting debtors, negotiating payment plans, and maintaining accurate records of communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Make a minimum of 40 outbound debtor calls per day
• Engage professionally and persuasively with debtors to negotiate repayment
• Read and interpret account statements accurately
• Record all interactions and outcomes in the system
• Follow up on payment arrangements and escalate where necessary
• Use Microsoft Outlook and Excel to manage communication and reporting
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism, empathy, and persistence

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 3 years' experience in a debt collection call centre environment
• Strong command of English, both spoken and written
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• Ability to interpret financial/account statements
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong work ethic and consistent performance under pressure
• Reside near the Northriding branch for convenient commuting
