JSE listed corporate seeking a Data Science & Analytics Manager. Minimum Requirements Overview of position
Degree (Honours, Masters or PHD) in quantitative fields such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and/or combination of these.
Proven expertise in data science technologies such as Python, PowerBI, Microsoft Azure, Spark, big data ecosystems, machine learning frameworks, and cloud infrastructure.
6+ years' experience in data science projects, including managing large-scale initiatives and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Deep knowledge of Python or R and common analytics/ML libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, SciPy), as well as a proven track record using Jupyter notebooks. Strong SQL skills and experience with large, complex datasets are essential.
Demonstrated ability to apply statistical machine learning techniques to predictive modelling, delivering measurable value.
Data Science & Analytics Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing company's data-driven strategy. Working closely with the Chief Data Officer and the Head of Data Science, collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure that all data science, reporting and analytics initiatives supports organization's vision. Key focus of the role will be to build and lead a high-performing team of Data Scientists and Analytics professionals.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Working seamlessly with business stakeholders, engineers, product managers, and other team members to ensure solutions are aligned with organizational goals.

- Prioritizing quantitative evidence and data-backed logic in shaping strategy and solutions.
- Ensuring the integrity, quality, and reliability of data and models used.
- Breaking down complex challenges and leveraging appropriate methodologies or technologies to tackle them effectively.
- Taking responsibility for the accuracy, relevance, and robustness of delivered models and insights.
- Ensuring that solutions are interpretable, explainable, and align with organizational and societal values.
