About the position
Reverside is an established IT services provider focused on delivering high-quality Software Development, IT Resourcing, Digital Transformation, and Systems Support solutions. We are looking for a skilled Data Privacy / Records Management / Encryption Specialist professional to join our growing team and contribute to innovative technology projects across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Embed and maintain Data Privacy policies, procedures, and standards
- Drive Records Management (RM) implementation across Business Units
- Create, manage, and mature the Records Management Practice
- Perform privacy risk assessments and gap analyses
- Monitor compliance with POPIA and Group governance frameworks
- Liaise with the Group Data Privacy Office and Information Regulator (via G-DPO)
- Develop and deliver privacy and RM training across Business Units
- Maintain Records Registers, Taxonomies, and retention policies
- Ensure correct records lifecycle management (creation ? retention ? disposal)
- Manage document encryption and secure client communications
- Maintain client encryption password registers and audit trails
- Prevent data breaches and manage privacy incidents
- Stakeholder engagement and advisory support across the Group
- Reporting to governance committees and BU EXCOs
Data Privacy & Governance - Strong understanding of POPI Act (POPIA)
- Deep knowledge of Data Privacy policies, procedures, and frameworks
- Experience with privacy risk assessments, maturity assessments & gap analysis
- Understanding of Information Governance principles
- Ability to identify, assess, and remediate privacy risks
- Knowledge of Data Classification, Data Quality, and Data Inventory Mapping (DIM)
Records Management - Strong knowledge of Records Management policies & lifecycle
- Records Registers
- RM Taxonomies (metadata)
- Retention schedules
- Understanding of Documentum / Unstructured Records Management
- Ability to embed RM requirements into business processes and systems
- Conduct RM compliance assessments and maturity reviews
- RM change management, awareness, and training delivery
Encryption & Information Security - PDF, Excel, Word
- Secure email handling of sensitive client information
- Maintaining encryption password registers and audit logs
- High accuracy checking to prevent data breaches
- Understanding of information security controls related to personal data
Risk, Audit & Compliance - Strong risk awareness and control mindset
- Audit readiness and clean audit delivery
- Experience dealing with internal & external audits
- Knowledge of Group risk management frameworks
- Ability to prevent and remediate audit exceptions
Qualifications – Mandatory- PECB Certified Provisional Data Protection Officer
- POPIA-focused training/certification (implicit via role requirements)
