About the position
Our client is looking for a dynamic Data Engineering Lead to support the Director and lead the team.
This role will suit a candidate that is currently in Data Engineering lead role and who is looking for the next step in their career.
The role is covers technical and leadership accountability and will someone who can bridge the gap between business needs and scalable data solutions.
The role can be based in either Durban, Cape Town or Sandton and is of a hybrid nature.
People & Enablement:
- Lead, mentor and support the growth of the data engineering team, developing both technical and consulting capabilities.
- Support internal enablement programs to ensure continuous upskilling across all teams on our core platforms: Qlik Data Integration (QDI), Qlik Talend, and Microsoft technologies.
- Support a culture of learning, experimentation, and collaboration.
Key Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or data integration, with some leadership experience from a team lead perspective.
- Proven experience designing and engineering complex data solutions.
- Deep understanding of modern data platforms including:
- Qlik Data Integration (Qlik Replicate, Compose, Enterprise Manager)
- Qlik Talend (Data Integration, Data Quality, ESB)
- Microsoft (Azure Synapse, Data Factory, SQL, Power Platform, Fabric)
- Experience in pre-sales, solutioning, and commercial scoping of data projects will be beneficial.
