Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
Develop database architecture, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
Define data governance policies and ensure data quality and security.
Collaborate with IT teams and business units to understand data requirements.
Optimize new and existing database systems for performance and scalability.
Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools.
Maintain documentation of data architecture and data flows.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Designs and implements AI solutions and models using Enterprise Architecture principles.

Considers the art of the possible, compares various architectural options based on feasibility and impact, and proposes actionable plans.
Assesses and manage multiple technical challenges simultaneously. Ensures architectural deliverables meet schedules and estimates.

Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (3 years) - Information Technology or related field Essential!
National Senior Certificate - Matric / Grade 12 Essential!
Post Graduate Studies - Information Technology or related fields Advantage
Certification – TOGAF *Essential!
Experience Required:
Minimum of 10+ years overall IT industry experience.
Minimum of 5+ years in a data architect role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms.
Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL), data modeling, and data warehousing and virtualization.
Proficiency in data integration tools and ETL frameworks.
Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Denodo, Hadoop, Spark).
Managed the end-to-end lifecycles of a project in a solution architect capacity.
Experience with mission-critical technology components with DR capabilities.
Experience with multi-geography, multi-tier service design, and management.
Extensive experience in financial management, solution plan development, and product cost estimation.
Solid business acumen, management, and communication skills.
Significant experience in presenting ideas, products, concept papers to varied audiences.
Experience coaching and mentoring others.
Leadership capability and proven ability to manage difficult stakeholders.
Experience supporting peer teams and their responsibilities such as infrastructure, operations, engineering, info-security.
