About the position
Shape the data backbone of foreign exchange. Build the evidence that guides how FX works.
We’re looking for a Data Analyst to help design the target-state data model for FX and create a clear, fact-based view of how data is structured, owned and moves across the FX value chain. This role sits at the intersection of business, data and technology — turning complexity into shared foundations that programme decisions can trust.
You’ll work with senior business and technology stakeholders in an Agile environment to catalogue the FX domain, map lineage, resolve data quality issues and produce the analysis packs that architecture, integration and migration teams rely on.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain the priority FX domain inventory — cataloguing business entities, attributes and relationships across the lifecycle.
- Prepare logical data-model artefacts, entity definitions, key attributes and modelling assumptions, and keep a prioritised register of model gaps and design decisions.
- Identify critical data elements and own the business data dictionary (definitions, formats, rules, producers, consumers, owners and authoritative sources).
- Map current-state data lineage and selected source-to-target journeys; surface manual hand-offs, duplicated data, transformation gaps and control points.
- Investigate priority data integrity and quality issues (completeness, consistency, timeliness, duplication, reconciliation) and document root causes plus recommendations.
- Analyse cross-system client, trade and transaction identifiers to support common reference requirements.
- Produce data-focused analysis packs and impact assessments for architecture, integration, migration and vendor discussions.
RequirementsWhat you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification (minimum).
- 8 years of professional experience, including:
- 5 years in financial services
- 5 years in Business Analysis or Feature Analysis
- 5 years in Data Analysis
- Proven experience in Agile delivery environments and engaging senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Strong capability in requirements elicitation and management, business/feature analysis, user stories, acceptance criteria, workshop facilitation, process analysis and stakeholder management.
- Hands-on skills in data analysis, mapping, modelling, governance, lineage and quality analysis, plus testing support and validation.
- Solid SQL and data profiling skills; understanding of data warehousing, architecture concepts, metadata management and data-lineage tooling.
- Familiarity with reporting and analytics concepts, APIs and system integration, plus Jira and Agile tooling.
Advantageous
- Experience in foreign exchange, capital markets, treasury systems or front-office trading environments.
- Exposure to regulatory reporting and financial product data models.
- Work with AWS cloud data platforms, data migration programmes or enterprise data management frameworks.
