About the position

Role Summary:
The Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across the organisation. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and proficiency in data visualisation. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between data and business.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to support business operations and strategic decisions.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to answer key business questions.
  • Apply best practices in data, aggregation, and visualisation to ensure performance and scalability
  • Support the creation of extractors and data views for integration with third-party vendors
  • Ensure the consistency and security of shared data while maintaining traceability and compliance
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data pipelines are optimised for reporting and analytics.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across systems.
  • Support data science initiatives by preparing datasets and contributing to model development.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI/ML to improve business processes.
  • Work closely with business units to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Present insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement improvements in BI processes, tools, and methodologies.

 
Qualifications:

  • Matric and a Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, or data analysis
  • Proven experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SAP BusinessObjects BI Suite)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehousing solutions.
  • Familiarity with data engineering concepts (ETL pipelines, data lakes) and cloud platforms (like Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Proficiency in data modelling, reporting tools, and visualisation techniques
  • Strong SQL or Python/R skills and experience with SAP environments
  • Understanding of data governance, quality checks, and performance optimisation

 
Advantageous:

  • Advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) in Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field
  • Experience working with SAP BW/4HANA
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application in business contexts
  • Exposure to data science tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, Jupiter Notebooks)
