About the position
As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting large datasets to provide valuable insights and support data-driven decision-making within the organisation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements, develop data models, and generate reports and visualisations that effectively communicate complex data findings. Your role will involve leveraging statistical techniques, data mining, and data visualisation tools to extract meaningful patterns, trends, and correlations from diverse data sources.
Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Preparation:
- Identify and gather relevant data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and external systems.
- Clean, transform, and validate datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Perform data quality checks to identify and resolve any data integrity issues.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Apply statistical techniques to analyse large datasets and identify trends, patterns, and relationships.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct hypothesis testing and statistical modeling to validate assumptions and make data-driven recommendations.
- Use data visualisation tools to create clear and compelling reports, dashboards, and presentations.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their information needs and translate them into actionable data requirements.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic and operational decision- making.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development and tracking of key data-driven goals and objectives.
Data Governance and Documentation:
- Ensure data governance and compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Document data analysis processes, methodologies, and assumptions for future reference.
- Maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and other documentation to facilitate data understanding and accessibility.
Continuous Learning and Development:
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data analysis.
- Identify opportunities to improve data analysis techniques and recommend innovative solutions.
