Data Analyst / Business Intelligence Developer (3-Month Contract)

About the position

Our client is seeking an experienced Data Analyst / Business Intelligence Developer to join their team on a 3-month contract in Johannesburg. This opportunity is ideal for a data professional with strong Business Intelligence expertise who enjoys developing scalable reporting solutions, optimising data environments, and transforming complex data into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Business Intelligence solutions and reporting platforms.
• Develop dashboards, reports and analytical models to support business decision-making.
• Design and optimise ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Develop and maintain robust data models and data warehouse solutions.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency and quality across reporting environments.
• Optimise BI platforms for performance, scalability and usability.
• Deploy, maintain and support Business Intelligence solutions throughout their lifecycle.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or a related field.
• Proven experience working as a BI Developer or in a similar technical role.
• Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI, Qlik Sense and Microsoft Fabric.
• Solid SQL and Python development skills.
• Experience with Spark, ETL development, data modelling and data pipelines.
• Knowledge of Synapse Data Engineering and Synapse Data Warehouse.
• Strong understanding of database management and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience gathering business requirements and supporting solution deployment.
• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate and other advanced certifications will be advantageous.
