About the position
We are seeking an experienced Damage coordinator to join our clients teams.
AIM OF POSITION:
Effectively co-ordinate and monitor the damages, repairs and claims processing, with
continuous improvement of productivity, capacity management. and agility to act on
fluctuations at Final Line, VLD and ACSA. Monitor the performance with regards to damage
repairs, collating repair quotes and claims handling, and initiate necessary actions to improve
continuously, at process, staff and systems performance levels.
Damage & Incident Management
- Capture and update all damage-related information and KPIs on the relevant systems.
- Compile and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly damage reports to Line Managers, Regional Operations Manager, and SHEQ.
- Monitor repair turnaround times and escalate delays to suppliers or management where necessary.
Compliance & Claims
- Verify that all QPRs, Incident Reports, and supporting documentation are completed in line with TSAM requirements.
- Maintain records of all damages, repairs, and insurance-related documentation for audit readiness.
Operational Oversight
- Control vehicle movements in the Damage and Distribution (DAD) area, ensuring efficient flow in and out.
- Oversee supplier repairs and touch-ups, ensuring they are co-signed by the company before release.
- Ensure new K-Sheets are placed on repaired units in the Hospital area and units are moved to the correct section timeously.
- Monitor and maintain parking bays/lanes across facilities to eliminate risks of accidents.
- Support accident investigations at the Kaalfontein yard and liaise directly with clients (TFR GP/KZN) regarding damage reports.
Awareness & Prevention
- Conduct and drive damage awareness campaigns across sites to reduce incident frequency
- Facilitate toolbox talks and refresher sessions with staff and drivers on damage prevention.
- Collaborate with Site Managers and Supervisors to reinforce accountability and embed preventative practices.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring damage trends and recommend process improvements to reduce costs.
- Benchmark against best practices and ensure damages do not exceed allocated stretch budgets.
- Work with cross-functional teams (SHEQ, Operations, and Technical) to implement long term
preventive solutions.
Site & Equipment Checks and Repairs
- Conduct regular inspections of site facilities
- Ensure operational areas are safe, hazard-free, and aligned with safety and compliance standards.
- Monitor, check, and report on all site equipment
- Log and escalate any faulty or damaged equipment for repair or replacement.
- Coordinate with Facilities and SHEQ teams to address site or equipment repairs promptly.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Matric;
- Computer Literate in MS Office Applications, V-Motion and SAP;
- Must be pro-active;
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Must have strong interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and analytical skills;
- Must be results driven;
- Must be accurate and have attention to detail;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines;
- Must be able to work overtime/weekends and shifts;
- Worked in the logistics/supply chain environment for 3 - 5 years.
