About the position

Introduction

The above vacancy exists in our Cylinder Distribution packaged gas department at our Cape Town facility, reporting to the Facility foreman. Qualified candidates who meet the requirements of the role are invited to apply.

Description
This role is responsible for the safe delivery and collection of packaged gas products from internal & external customers using safe and reliable methods. The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
1. Responsible for the pre-post driving tasks;
2. Responsible for the loading and offloading of cylinders;
3. Ensure safe driving and manoeuvring of the vehicle;
4. Ensure safe and efficient delivery and collection of cylinders at assigned destinations;
5. Ensure adherence and compliance to all EHS&Q requirements;
6. Responsible for any other assigned ad hoc duties;

Minimum Requirements
1.   A minimum of Matric or Grade 12 Senior certificate with Maths, Science and English;
2.   Dangerous Goods Transportation Certified and current;
3.   A valid unendorsed EC Code 14 drivers license with PDrP (Dangerous Goods) classification;
4.   Must have own reliable transport;
5.   Must have a valid and current Forklift license;
6.   Must have a valid and current Tail lift operator’s license;
7.   Must have a valid and current Truck Mounted Crane operator’s license;
8.   A minimum of 5 years of heavy-duty driving experience in Gas/Chemicals or associated industry;
9.   Must be 25 years or older to qualify for a PrDP;
10. Must have working knowledge of Quality and Safety systems;
11. Must be medically fit and able to undertake physical work;
12. Able and willing to work within a shift system and overtime when required;
13. Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
