The Role: Customer Service & Sales Specialist (Telesales)
This role combines outbound telesales with customer service responsibility, positioning the successful candidate as a key point of contact for both new and existing customers. The focus is on driving revenue through proactive calling, resolving customer queries efficiently, and supporting the broader sales operation through accurate administration and lead generation. Performance, consistency, and attention to detail are critical to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- 2 to 3 years of experience in high-volume outbound telesales, using prepared sales scripts to drive sales and exceed targets
- Conduct outbound calls to existing and prospective customers to maximise sales through product knowledge and persuasion
- Identify and research new business opportunities and generate qualified leads for the Sales Team
- Act as the dedicated point of contact for assigned customer representatives, resolving issues within agreed timeframes
- Accurately capture orders in Navision and maintain a clean, up-to-date sales database
- Prepare and issue professional quotations for clients
- Record customer feedback, interactions, and sales activity with a high level of accuracy
- Provide switchboard relief and assist with ad hoc administrative or team support tasks as required
About You
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a high-volume outbound telesales or call centre sales environment
- Proven ability to close sales and consistently work towards and exceed targets
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience using Navision or CRM systems, is advantageous
- High energy levels with the resilience to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in data capture, file hygiene, and customer records
- Professional, ethical, and aligned with high organisational and social standards
- Solid understanding of sales and marketing principles
- Education & Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) is essential
- Certificates in CRM systems or selling skills are advantageous
- Knowledge of sales and marketing principles is required
