Job Title: Crushing Plant Maintenance Fitter

Hire Resolve's client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crushing Plant Maintenance Fitter to join their mining team in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance and repairs and extensive crushing and screening experience, in the mining industry. They will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various crushing plant equipment to ensure smooth operations and maximum productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on crushing plant equipment, including jaw crushers, cone crushers, screens, conveyors, and associated components.
- Carry out regular inspections of equipment to identify any potential issues or breakdowns and address them in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems of the crushing plant machinery.
- Repair or replace defective parts or components using appropriate tools, equipment, and techniques.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance activities, such as lubrication, belt changing, and equipment adjustments, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other plant maintenance team members and production staff to coordinate maintenance activities and prioritize work orders.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and equipment condition.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment and minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
- Stay updated on new equipment models, technologies, and industry best practices related to crushing plant maintenance to continuously improve knowledge and skills.
- Provide assistance and support during plant shutdowns or emergencies, including working overtime or on-call shifts if required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a maintenance fitter, with 10 years of crushing and screening experience
- Fitter trade certification
- Strong knowledge of crushing plant equipment, including jaw crushers, cone crushers, screens, and conveyors.
- Sound understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting machinery faults and implementing appropriate repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with other team members.
