About the position
Location: V&A Waterfront, Cape Town | Work arrangement: Hybrid | Contract Position: 3 months, with potential for renewal.
Start date: 1 October 2026
Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Analyst to join their team on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of renewal. This hybrid role, based at the V&A Waterfront, will support credit risk operations by assessing new and existing customers, reviewing credit limits, analysing financial information, identifying risk trends, and providing recommendations that support sound commercial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct credit risk evaluations for new and existing customers and recommend appropriate credit limits.
· Interpret financial information, identify risk factors, and prepare clear credit recommendations and business cases.
· Monitor customer accounts, overdue balances, credit limit exceptions, and high-risk exposures.
· Support internal stakeholders with credit-related queries, escalations, reporting, and customer risk insights.
· Ensure adherence to credit policies, standards, procedures, data security, and compliance requirements.
Minimum Requirements
· Minimum 4 years’ experience in a credit risk, credit analyst, or related credit environment.
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification.
· Strong financial statement analysis, report writing, and risk assessment skills.
· Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment while managing changing priorities and strict deadlines.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
· Proficiency in Excel and relevant business systems; SAP experience is advantageous.
· Experience with TransUnion, Experian, or other credit bureaus is advantageous.
