Credit Risk Analyst

About the position

Senior Credit Risk Analyst preferably with a Master's Degree in Statistics/Data Science/Actuarial Science or related field and minimum 5 years' relevant credit risk analysis experience, developing predictive models forecasting probability of default, required for this finance and technology company operating in South Africa, Zambia, Uganda and Kenya.

Minimum requirements:

• Master's degree in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science or a related field required
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Credit Risk Analyst required
• String experience developing predictive models forecasting probability of default required
• Experience and knowledge of provisioning approaches and calculations
• Experience in programming languages such as Python or R required

Responsibilities:

• Drive the development of credit policy, product pricing and product features
• Develop and monitor customer scorecards for both acquisition and existing customer credit policy decisions
• Analyse data sets to identify factors correlated with credit risk outcomes
• Develop credit risk models that forecast likelihood of default
• Assist operations to achieve better credit risk outcomes by integrating models and data driven approaches into operational processes
• Determine risk based product pricing
• Liaise with the Finance Team and other stakeholders to build insights in customer profitability segments
• Update provisioning models to cover changing credit risk
• Analyse complex data set using SQL and other tools to extract insights and identify trends
• Develop junior credit risks and data analysts
