About the position

A leading financial institution focused on supporting commercial and emerging farmers is seeking a Credit Manager to join its Commercial Banking & Transformation division in Polokwane. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable financing solutions that drive growth and transformation across the agricultural value chain.

The Role

As a Credit Manager, you will:

  • Manage the end-to-end credit assessment process for clients within your region

  • Approve loans and credit limits within delegated authority

  • Coordinate and support credit committee structures (regional and provincial)

  • Ensure adherence to credit policies, governance, and risk management standards

  • Provide technical guidance to Credit Analysts and Administrators

  • Engage with stakeholders to structure innovative and sustainable credit solutions

  • Monitor portfolio performance and manage credit risk exposure

Requirements

Relevant qualification (BCom / BTech or similar)

5-8 years' management experience in commercial credit, business banking, or structured finance

Strong expertise in:

Financial analysis

Credit risk assessment

Deal structuring

Knowledge of credit governance, compliance, and policy frameworks

Agricultural finance experience will be advantageous

Willingness to travel and work extended hours when required
