Credit Controller

About the position

Our client, a well-established and successful company within the textile and manufacturing sector, is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys managing debtor accounts and building strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage a debtor's book of approximately R5 million
• Follow up on outstanding payments and maintain strong debtor relationships
• Ensure customer orders are released within agreed credit terms
• Maintain and reconcile the age analysis
• Manage a large portfolio of COD customers (approximately 50% of sales)
• Process new credit applications, including credit bureau checks, trade reference checks and ensuring all required documentation is obtained
• Process credit notes accurately and timeously
• Assist with invoicing when required
• Update daily cash flow reports
• Prepare and submit weekly debtor reports to management

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' Credit Control experience
• Previous experience managing a debtor's book
• Working knowledge of Sage Evolution is essential
• Strong understanding of credit control processes and debt collection
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
