About the position

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of debtor accounts and ensure timely collection of outstanding amounts.
  • Follow up on overdue tenant, rental, levy, utility, and other property-related accounts.
  • Allocate payments and reconcile debtor accounts accurately.
  • Investigate and resolve account queries and disputes.
  • Issue statements, reminder notices, and demand letters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date debtor records.
  • Monitor ageing reports and take appropriate action to reduce outstanding debt.
  • Prepare and submit regular collection and arrears reports to management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • 3-5 years' credit control experience.
  • Previous experience within the property management / development or related industry will be highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working on MDA or other or property management systems an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Credit control and debt collection procedures.
  • Debtors reconciliations and account maintenance.
  • Rental, levy, utility, and property-related billing processes.
  • Customer account management.
  • Financial reporting and account analysis.
  • Knowledge of legal collection processes will be advantageous.
