Credit Clerk

About the position

Job Summary:

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Credit Clerk to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with credit applications, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely processing of payments. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and review credit applications, ensuring all required documents are complete.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records and update account information as needed.
• Assist in monitoring outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue payments.
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Generate and distribute credit reports to management.
• Work closely with the finance and sales teams to ensure credit policies are followed.
• Address customer inquiries related to credit terms and payment issues.
• Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.

Requirements:

• Education: Matric with a relevant BCom Degree/Diploma
• Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
