Credit Assistant – Banking Durban North, KwaZulu-Natal

Are you building your career in banking or finance and ready to gain broader exposure to the credit process?

We are looking for a bright, analytical and detail-focused Credit Assistant to join a well-established banking environment. This is a junior-level opportunity suited to someone who understands financial information and would like to develop a career in credit.

You may already have experience in:

• Reviewing or pre-vetting loan and credit applications
• Assessing a customer’s affordability and ability to repay
• Interpreting financial statements and supporting documents
• Preparing credit motivations or proposals for a central credit team
• Supporting relationship managers, business bankers or a branch credit function
• General finance, lending or banking administration

To be considered, you should ideally have:

• A finance, accounting, economics or related degree - essential
• Some practical experience within banking, lending, credit or finance
• A good understanding of financial statements and affordability
• Strong written communication and attention to detail
• The ability to work accurately with supporting financial information
• A proactive attitude and genuine interest in developing within banking credit
