About the position
Our client, a professional services company with operations in Mozambique, is seeking to currently seeking to engage with Cost Controllers to be based in Mozambique. Main Duties:
Developing the cost breakdown structure (CBS/WBS), allocating the approved budget, setting up the cost coding system, and creating the initial cost baseline. This serves as the reference for tracking and controlling all expenditures throughout the LNG facility development (liquefaction trains, storage tanks, regasification, etc.).
Regularly tracking commitments, actual expenditures, accruals, and variances against the baseline; preparing cash-flow projections; updating forecasts to completion (including contingencies and escalation); and identifying potential overruns early to support corrective actions in a high-value, long-duration LNG project environment.
Producing periodic (usually monthly) cost reports, KPIs, and variance explanations for project management, stakeholders, and partners; assessing change orders/variations (common in complex LNG projects due to design/scope changes, market fluctuations, or regulatory requirements); quantifying their cost impact; and maintaining the change register to keep the project within the approved budget.
