Company and Job Description
Our client is a reputable manufacturing organisation committed to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering quality products to the market. They are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to take ownership of Work-in-Progress (WIP), Bills of Quantities (BOQs), standard costing, inventory control, and production cost reporting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working closely with Finance, Procurement and Production, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate costing structures, monitoring inventory movements, analysing production variances, and ensuring the integrity of financial information. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Cost Accountant to join a stable organisation where you can make a meaningful contribution while further developing your manufacturing finance expertise.




Key Responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile Work-in-Progress (WIP), ensuring accurate cost allocation and investigating production variances.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, variance analysis, budgeting support, and assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
• Review, maintain and validate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), standard costing models, and pricing structures within Syspro.
• Monitor inventory movements, stock reconciliations, cycle counts, and stock accuracy across the business.
• Partner with Procurement, Sales and Production to develop accurate costing and pricing models.
• Maintain strong internal controls over costing, inventory, and financial processes while ensuring Syspro data integrity.

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education

• Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting or Cost Management.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years' Cost Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience managing Work-in-Progress (WIP), Bills of Quantities (BOQs), inventory control and standard costing.
• Hands-on experience with Syspro ERP is essential.
• Experience with production costing, variance analysis and financial reporting.

Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial acumen.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.
