Company and Job Description:
A well-established organisation within a highly operational environment is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join its factory-based finance team. This role will be instrumental in managing costing frameworks, analysing production performance, and partnering closely with internal stakeholders to support informed decision-making in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and maintain ABC and standard costing models
- Maintain and continuously improve costing models and structures
- Prepare and manage costing budgets and forecasts
- Manage CAPEX reporting and maintain the fixed asset register
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routing structures
- Perform average costing and in-depth variance analysis
- Analyse overheads, recoveries, and cost allocations
- Monitor and engage directly with production lines
- Prepare detailed management reports, cost analysis, and insights
- Process and review cost adjustments
- Operate within an ERP environment (SAGE X3 advantageous)
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across operational teams
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BCom in Accounting or CIMA qualification
- Experience within manufacturing, mining, engineering, or similar industries
- Strong costing expertise in a factory or production environment
- ERP system exposure (SAGE X3 advantageous)
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
- Resilient and thick-skinned, comfortable working on-site in a factory setting
- Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
