Cost Accountant

About the position

Hire Resolve's client, a leader in the steel manufacturing and fencing industry, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cost Accountant to join their team. This role is essential in managing and analyzing cost structures, with a focus on raw material procurement, production costing, and sales costing. Experience in the steel industry will be considered a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Raw Material Costing & Procurement Support
  
  
  • Monitor raw material costs and assist in procurement analysis
    
    
  • Liaise with procurement to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
    
    
• Production Costing & BOM Management
  
  
  • Analyze and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM)
    
    
  • Track and report on production variances and manufacturing efficiency
    
    
  • Ensure correct allocation of labor and overhead costs
    
    
• Sales Costing & Profitability Analysis
  
  
  • Develop and maintain standard costing for products
    
    
  • Assist in pricing strategies based on cost analysis
    
    
  • Evaluate profitability per product line or customer
    
    
• Reporting & Compliance
  
  
  • Prepare detailed cost reports for management
    
    
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with relevant standards and company policies
    
    

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Cost Management, or related field
  
  
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a cost accounting role
  
  
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost structures and BOMs
  
  
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Syspro, or equivalent)
  
  
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  
  
• Steel industry experience will be a strong advantage
