COST ACCOUNTANT (3 Months FTC) at Famous Brands

About the position

Introduction

Take full responsibility for the correct costing and pricing of all products. Ensure that detail explanations are provided to the Financial Manager for any deviations from agreed margins.

Duties & Responsibilities

• To control and maintain the Pricing Database - incl. contract pricing or independent customer price list.
• Pricing and costings - ensuring the current costings and pricing is accurate on the System
• Maintain Bills of Materials for all SKU's and recipes
• To reconcile Revenue, Cost of Sales and GP GL accounts monthly, and ensuring accuracy of our financial reporting
• Perform Sales, Cost of Sales and Gross Profit analysis with commentary for the Manufacturing Plant
• To reconcile all Inventory Balance Sheet GL accounts (incl. Clearing Accounts) monthly, and ensuring completeness and accurate valuation of Inventory
• To ensure all Financial Management Pack schedules are prepared accurately and timeously
• To actively analyse costs and provide Management with accurate and complete information for decision making
• Weekly Sales reporting and further analysis to explain deviations from Budget / Forecast
• Implement weekly Dashboards for cost analysis to drive cost efficiencies within production, these incl.:

• Implement accurate production yield reports
• Reporting on Unaccountable and Stock write-offs

• Assist in the Preparations of Budgets and Forecasts ensuring accuracy of the sales, cost of sales and gross profit margin numbers
• Actively participate in activity-based costings, yield analysis, cost savings measures and all adhoc manufacturing related projects
• Assist the Financial Manager in the analysis, commentary and compilation of the financial packs
• Support business unit with monthly stock takes - ensuring oversight over the integrity of the stocktake processes and procedure, and adherence to Group Policy
• Ensure the Integrity of the GL and Balance Sheet reporting by performing monthly Balance sheet reconciliations

• Participate in the annual budgeting process
• Prepare year-end audit files and assist external auditors at year-end
• Assist outside auditors at year-end, including preparation of schedules, providing supporting documentation and explaining procedures
• Perform adhoc projects as-and-when required

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Cost and Management Accounting qualification, appropriate tertiary qualification
• Grade 12
• Minumum of 3 (Three) years commercial accounting and costing experince
• Must be computer literate - MS Excel, Word, Power Point and ERP
• Experience with SAGE X3 ERP will be advantage
• Experience in Manufacturing is compulsory
