Key Responsibilities
Valuations and Financial Due Diligence
- Perform and review a wide range of corporate valuations, including purchase price allocations (PPA), impairment assessments, equity instruments, debt instruments, and complex financial instruments.
- Conduct and review financial due diligence engagements across multiple industries.
- Build, review, and refine advanced financial and valuation models.
- Deliver detailed operational and financial analysis, including preparation of high-quality reports and presentations.
- Maintain strong technical knowledge of key accounting standards including IFRS 3, IFRS 9, IFRS 13 and IAS 36.
- Manage multiple valuation and due diligence projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional quality.
- Personally lead and deliver various valuations, due diligence assignments, and JSE regulatory advisory projects.
Team Leadership and Staff Development
- Manage teams, projects, and client engagements on a day-to-day basis.
- Review and guide the work of junior team members, providing mentorship, coaching, and technical training.
- Conduct performance reviews, give structured feedback, and ensure staff development aligns with competency requirements.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and innovative team culture.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Prepare high-quality proposals and quotations, contributing to pipeline growth.
- Obtain client references and feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with local and international teams to deliver seamless transactional and advisory experiences.
Quality, Risk and Compliance
- Apply the firm's quality and risk management policies rigorously across all engagements.
- Participate in internal quality assurance, risk management initiatives, and mandatory training.
- Stay updated with relevant technical, regulatory, and industry developments, including CPD requirements (where applicable).
Operational Support
- Contribute to daily operations and assist partners/directors with internal initiatives.
- Support the division's financial performance, achieving revenue targets and managing project budgets.
- Complete various ad-hoc responsibilities as required.
Experience and Skills Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' Corporate Finance experience, with a strong focus on valuations and related accounting standards.
- Solid financial due diligence experience across multiple sectors.
- Experience from a reputable professional services firm is strongly preferred.
- JSE regulatory advisory experience is advantageous but not required.
Technical Skills
- Advanced financial modelling skills (Excel).
- Strong analytical ability in both operational and financial analysis.
- Exceptional report-writing skills - clear, structured, and professional.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple assignments concurrently.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, meeting strict deadlines.
