Job Title:

Corporate Banker

Job Mission / Objective:

As a Corporate Banker, your primary mission is to originate and manage a portfolio of corporate banking clients, including multi-national companies, and South African corporates. You will be responsible for providing financial advice, driving portfolio growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Reports to:

Business Development Executive

Impact on Business Results:

Your role has a high impact on the division's financial performance, contributing to the growth of the asset and liability books through client onboarding and credit origination.

Figures Affected by the Role (KPIs):

Quantitative:

• Onboarding of 5x ONEBANK Names clients and 20x SA Corporates clients annually
• Approval of 10x new credit applications annually
• Asset book growth of R450m and liability book growth of R300m annually

Qualitative:

• Portfolio growth and customer satisfaction

Main Responsibilities:

Business Planning/Decision Making:You will be involved in strategic decision-making regarding client engagement, portfolio growth, and credit approvals.

Policies and Procedures:

Adherence to relevant banking policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

People Management:

No direct people management responsibilities.

Other Role Elements:

You will engage with internal departments such as Treasury, Credit, Business & Commercial, and Retail Banking, as well as external clients and partners.

Job Requirements:

• Academic Knowledge: B Comm or relevant degree, FAIS RE5 examination.
• Work Experience: 2-10 years corporate banking experience.
• Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Competencies: Attention to detail, ability to manage time and work under pressure, willingness to work long hours, numeracy skills, planning and problem-solving abilities, and willingness to travel internationally.
