About the position

Postion Summary:
The NRF Corporate Office based in Pretoria seeks to make an appointment for the position of Corporate Accountant. Reporting to the Manager: Financial Reporting, the incumbent will support an effective financial and management accounting service to the organisation through the provision of accurate, complete and reliable accounting services and to provide support and advisory on financial matters to the finance teams across the NRF.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete statutory reports, including SARB, the DSTI and National Treasury Provide support services to business units of the NRF and ensure compliance to GRAP, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and Financial Policies and ProceduresStaying up to date with financial regulations and best practice, and ensuring the organisation meets all statutory obligationsSupport the finance team in preparing, consolidating and reviewing budgets and forecasts across the business unitsEnsure accurate and timely consolidation of financial data from various business unitsMonitor actual performance against budgets, identify variances and follow throughCompile schedules and reconciliations for the annual financial statements in line with policies and proceduresAssist Manager with managing and coordinating internal and external auditsAnnual assets register review and follow throughAnalyse lease agreements and prepare finance/operating lease reconciliations quarterlyCoordinate the review and update of financial policies and standard operating proceduresCoordinate training interventions to finance staff across the organisationDevelop and maintain financial reports using the financial report writer in D365 F&OTrain users in the design of financial reports in the financial report writer in D365 F&OAdvanced data extracts from D365 F&O for interrogation or audit purposes

Minimum Qualification:
  • Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7

Minimum Experience:
  • 3-5 years
  • Degree in Accounting (NQF 7)
  • Membership of an Accounting Professional Body will be advantageous
  • 3 Years relevant work experience in financial reporting and accounting processes within a public sector environment

Experience:
  • Solution orientation with sound judgmentAbility to meet deadlines and work under pressureExcellent computer literacy skillsProficiency in the use of the full Microsoft Office suite of applicationsWorking exposure to Microsoft D365 F&O will be advantageous

Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of public sector legislation and regulations, including Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP), Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and National Treasury RegulationsExcellent written and verbal expressionGood interpersonal and engagement skillsAttention to detail with accuracy and analytical mindset
