About the position
We are seeking an experienced Core Shop Superintendent with a strong technical background and exposure to IATF 16949 standards. The successful candidate will oversee core production operations, ensuring production output, quality, cost control, and staff development while maintaining strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage production output and ensure staff are trained and equipped to meet targets.
- Minimise scrap through monitoring, problem-solving, and corrective actions.
- Ensure on-time deliveries of cores and maintain adequate stock levels.
- Control departmental costs in line with budget and raise requisitions as required.
- Enforce quality procedures, conduct inspections, and maintain accurate quality records aligned with IATF 16949 requirements.
- Ensure adherence to Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) regulations.
- Develop and train staff to enhance skills and growth within the department.
- Monitor overtime, headcount, and workplace discipline.
- Maintain a clean and organised production floor.
- Attend production and scrap meetings to discuss improvements and corrective actions.
Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:
- Certificate in Foundry Technology or related technical qualification.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Core Shop environment.
- Exposure to IATF 16949 quality management system requirements for automotive production.
- Strong technical background with working knowledge of FMEA, control plans, and production processes.
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
