About the position
1. The Opportunity
Our client is looking for an experienced Core Infrastructure Project Manager to manage a portfolio of IT infrastructure projects aimed at improving the stability, security, resilience and capacity of the technology environment.
The role will work across internal IT teams, technical specialists, vendors and service providers.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Manage infrastructure projects from planning through to implementation and closure.
- Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, milestones and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate projects covering areas such as:
o Networks and connectivity
o Servers and storage
o Cybersecurity
o Disaster recovery
o Business continuity
o Data-centre infrastructure
o Infrastructure resilience and technology refresh - Manage project risks, issues, dependencies and change requests.
- Coordinate vendors, service providers and internal technical teams.
- Manage testing, implementation, cutover and contingency planning.
- Ensure projects are ready for implementation and properly handed over to operational teams.
- Prepare project dashboards, management reports and Steering Committee packs.
- Monitor budgets, procurement dependencies and vendor deliverables.
3. Requirements - Strong experience managing IT infrastructure projects in a complex enterprise environment.
- Practical understanding of networks, servers, storage, security, disaster recovery and/or data-centre environments.
- Experience managing multiple projects or an infrastructure project portfolio.
- Strong vendor and stakeholder management experience.
- Proven experience with implementation, cutover and service transition.
- Strong risk, issue, budget and dependency management skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting ability.
- Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM or equivalent.

A hands-on Infrastructure Project Manager who understands technology, but whose strength is getting people, vendors and technical teams aligned and projects delivered on time and with minimal disruption to the business.
